I put together my first Navajo style shoot in March. I collaborated with some pretty awesome people on this shoot. First up, Koda and Daniel (a real engaged couple) the sweetest and most adorable couple you'll ever meet. I'm happy to announce I'll be photographing their wedding in July. I'm so excited!
I also got to work with my sweet friend and Navajo fashion blogger, Alana Yazzie of The Fancy Navajo. I told her my ideas of the shoot. I wanted something fresh, bright, happy, and romantic with a modern twist. That's all I had to say really and she ran with it. She's amazing! An added bonus was when Alana's husband, Kyle, loaned us the jewelry for the shoot. I went totally bonkers!
I also got to work with Sidnee Omphroy of SidneeObeauty. She and I worked together before. Except she was in front of my camera that time. Anyhoo, Sidnee is on her way to being a hair and make-up rockstar. She'll probably do Beyonce's hair someday. I asked Sidnee if she could do a fresh, natural but with a pop of color for Koda's make-up. As for Koda's hair a loose and romantic updo. Sidnee delivered!
My main goal is to show more of Native couples in love and capturing it not only beautifully but softly. Photos with lots of light, soft colors, gentleness and romance. I believe photography style comes from the type of person you are. And my style truly reflects that.
This was my first style shoot, so I kept it really simple. However, it did take some work and lots of organization. If you are a florist, calligrapher or something wedding related, I love to collaborate with you! Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
