Why Printing Your Photos Still Matters

And Why Photo Albums Are So Special

One of my favorite things to do is look through my mom’s photo albums. It’s like time travel.

My mom was our photographer when I was a little girl. She took the time to capture our childhood, print the photos, and carefully place them into albums. Back then it was a whole process, taking the film to be developed, waiting days to get it back, and organizing the prints.

But she did it, and because of that we have something tangible to hold and share.

Today, most photos live on phones, computers, or in the cloud. Those are great places to store and back up your images, but they shouldn’t be the only place your memories live.

Your photos deserve to be printed and experienced, not forgotten in a digital folder.

Technology changes quickly. Devices become outdated and files get lost. But printed photographs; albums, framed prints, and wall art, can last for generations.

We didn’t have a lot growing up, but my mom understood the importance of existing in photos. She didn’t have many photos of herself as a child, and neither did my dad, so she made sure our memories were preserved.

That’s something I carry with me today as a photographer.

Your JPEG Photos Are Meant to Be Printed

When you receive JPEG files from your session, they’re designed to be printed and enjoyed, not just stored on a hard drive. Printing your photos brings those memories into your everyday life. A framed photo on your wall, an album on your coffee table, or small prints shared with family all help keep those moments alive.

Print Options I Offer Clients

To help make printing easy, I offer a few beautiful print products from professional labs.

Mini Snapshots
These feature a 2.85" square image with a white border for a classic instant-film look. They’re trendy, nostalgic, and perfect for family sessions or senior photos.

Mini Accordion Books
These small books unfold into a printed accordion spread and come with a custom photo or fabric cover. They’re perfect as grandparent brag books or thank-you gifts, and they come in sets of three so they can be shared.

Professional Photo Prints
I offer prints from 5x7 to 11x14, ready to frame and display in your home.

All prints come from a professional lab that provides 100% color accuracy and quality-assured printing on professional photo paper. My favorite finish is Lustre paper, which offers vibrant colors, sharp detail, beautiful skin tones, and a soft texture that helps reduce fingerprints.

Your Memories Deserve to Be Seen

As a photographer, I believe the final product should be something you can hold, display, and pass down. Albums, prints, and wall art allow your memories to live in your home, not just on a screen. Technology will always change. But a printed photograph is something your family can enjoy for generations.

And helping preserve your memories in that way truly means the world to me.
