It’s family photo season and I have some great tips for you. I want you all to experience good sessions out there.
1. Let kids be kids. Not everyone will be looking at the camera at the same time. Some kiddos love the camera and some just want to explore. So don’t stress. It’s about the feeling in that moment. Parents just take in the moment. Let your kiddos know about the photo session and make a day of it. Go for ice cream or a fun activity afterwards.
2. Parents enjoy the moments. We are creating photos that will be cherished. It will show the connection you have with one another. Laugh, giggle, snuggle, and hug. Those photos will stand out the most. These are the photos you’ll want to re-live.
3. Please don’t force kids to look at the camera and make them say, “Cheese.” It’s so stressful, not only to the kiddos but the photographer. Skilled photogs will know how to interact with little ones. Natural photos for kiddos is such a gem.
4. Let your man/hubby know how important these photos are to you and your family. Something to remember us by. Let’s memories, heirlooms and legacies. Once he knows that, he will shine for the camera for you!
5. Have plenty of time to get ready.
6. Get rested and everyone fed before session.
7. Choose comfortable clothes. Avoid wearing all the same exact colors. Instead choose colors within the same color palette. A skilled photographer will share a style guide with you.
I hope you find this helpful. If you have any other tips please share them in comments or dm them to me. Thanks! I’m now booking family sessions on film. Only four spots available. Link in profile to book. DM if you have questions.
